Creative Listening’s journey of transformation

If you’ve noticed changes at Creative Listening over the past couple of years, well that’s due to the guidance of one very special man: Dominic Gomez of Snorkel

Today, we’re sharing a bit about our journey of transformation because. Who knows, it might provide useful inspiration for you and your educational organisation.

How it started

It all started when Luke, Creative Listening’s co-founder and Creative Director, met Dom whilst working at a co-working space in Lewes, Sussex, during a summer hiatus from city life. The two clicked and, with Creative Listening’s 10 year anniversary on the horizon, began to collaborate on a company refresh.

The process

Through his outfit Snorkel, Dom helps businesses to interrogate their offering by presenting an “outside-in”, objective perspective.

Through discovery sessions, deep dives and by encouraging us as a company to ask ourselves some very thought-provoking questions, Dom helped us to realise that with Creative Listening’s unique blend of expertise, knowledge and skill – which includes our knowledge of the publishing industry and teaching, as well as production skills and technical knowledge – Creative Listening had grown to become much more than a production company.

The outcome

Dom helped us to clearly define who we are, what our message is and what we offer as a company. We then channelled this clarity into a full rebrand, upgrading our proposition from production company to creative agency with a fresh new look to boot.

It was an insightful, enlightening, challenging, creative and rewarding process – and, like Lennon and McCartney, a reminder of the beautiful things that can happen when you collaborate with the right people.

The beauty of collaboration

Dom is a people person; well rounded, human, holistic and thoughtful. He’s a natural born motivator and relentlessly yet pragmatically, optimistic. He gave us confidence by establishing an in-depth understanding of who we are and reminding us of just how much we offer as a team. With his warmth and energy, he revitalised us as a company. He has become a valued mentor.

In fact, we all loved working together so much that Dom joined the team as our Commercial Director!

We hope our story has inspired you to dig deep in order to better understand your offering so that you too can find renewed clarity and confidence. We’ll leave you with this quote (often attributed to Aristotle, although that is contested):

“Where the needs of the world and your talents meet, there lies your calling.”

Thank you Dom for helping us to clarify our talents, so that we can continue in our calling to make learning-first content that elevates education and captivates audiences of all ages.
